2011 foals

Chance It - Chestnut Thoroughbred Mare, registered with Wetherby's

Sherry arrived with us in March 2010. She is 16.2hh 5 year old mare who was bought for Charlotte as a project. She has the sweetest temperament and is so laid back. Not surprised she wasn't fast enough for the race course! But due to lack of time, Charlotte hasn't been able to ride her so she was put in foal to Bert, and produced a beautiful filly in May 2011, we believe she may be in foal again for 2012 and may be offered for sale to a special home.

Foals Produced with us:

Grace - 19/05/2011- Sired By Maybeck Red Legacy

Rohey Sparkling Maydream (Doris) - Bay Welsh Section B mare 31/05/1997 - WPCS 115527

We bought Doris from our friends Penny & Andrew of Bathleyhills Farm, Caunton in October 2008. Doris is by Wian Mab Spruce who has a super show record having taken many championships under saddle.  She was purchased by Penny as a five year old and produced "Goblin" a few months later! She is a good moving, even tempered, pretty mare who throws all to her foals.  She has produced some super, good moving foals with superb temperaments for Penny, we hope this will continue with us. Doris is both easy to have around and is a superb mum!!!  She has never been backed as she has always been used as a brood mare.

She produced a super chestnut filly by Thistledown Copper Lustre in May 2009 - 'Harry' is a super Welsh section B stallion, registered with the Sports Pony Society - See Penny Walster's website for more information: www.bathleyhillfarmlivery.com

Wian Mab Spruce - Doris' Sire was WPCS Centernary ridden Section B champion. Bronze and Silver medal winner both in hand and under saddle!

Maybeck Rosie - Chestnut Shetland mare 28/05/2002 - SPSBS AN1544

Homebred shetland mare by Scammells Cracker out of Sierra of Drakelaw. A real character this one, loads of cheek and great fun, the kids love her. She was a real shock to us when she was born, as both parents are jet black! She has matured into a lovely chestnut with flaxen mane, has had some success when shown in hand and we are now looking forward to seeing what foals she may produce!

Twoacre Sasha - Grey Shetland mare 12/05/1991 - SPSBS AA1824

Like Sierra, bought as a companion and kids pony. Sasha turned out to be a great gymkhana pony, winning loads of rosettes with the girls, she also proved herself in hand too, winning lots of shetland classes and reserve breed championships. Unfortunately, we have not had a foal from her, and she now has devolped multiple melanomas, so she has a new job of looking after the weanlings.......she seems quite happy to take the yougsters under her wing!

Rowberton April Joy - Miniature spotted mare

April joined us with Mutiny....I just couldn't resist!! Shown at 2006 Spotted Nationals, 3rd in the youngstock class. She has settled down really well and just loves lots of attention! April should have been in foal when we bought her, however she turned out not to be! April may run with our new boy Bertie for a 2012 foal.

Jenny & Chicken - Part bred Shetland / Dartmoor mare and filly

Jenny and Chicken joined us 1/05/09. Jenny (with colt foal at foot) had been rescued from Melton Sales by her previous owner Sonya, a few months later Chicken arrived, much to Sonya's surprise!! Jenny is prone to laminitis and Chicken was also showing tendencies, so as Sonya's grass is just too rich, she had to find them another home, so they have come to us. They have settled into the herd really well and making new friends, especially with Bramble. I think I'll have to keep my eyes on this terrible trio!
